Your Path to Better Health

Tiffany Ell

Tiffany Ell is a Family Nurse Practitioner and the founder of Trailhead Medical Care in Anchorage, Alaska, with over 31 years of experience in healthcare. Her career began in the fire service, where she built a strong foundation in emergency response and patient care before transitioning into nursing.

She went on to work in Level I trauma centers across the lower 48 in both the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Emergency Department (ER), caring for patients in some of the most critical situations. Tiffany later became a flight nurse in Kansas City, which sparked her passion for medevac medicine. That path eventually brought her to Alaska, where she first worked as a travel nurse before returning to flight nursing for an additional seven years—an experience she found both challenging and deeply rewarding.

As a new Nurse Practitioner, Tiffany began working in rural village clinics across Alaska. It was during this time that she developed a strong interest in metabolic health and preventative medicine, recognizing the importance of addressing root causes and supporting long-term wellness.

Today, Tiffany brings together her diverse background in emergency, critical care, and rural medicine to provide thoughtful, patient-centered care. At Trailhead Medical Care, her focus is on helping patients feel their best through a proactive, personalized approach to health.

Barb Dunham

Barb is a paramedic with over 20 years of experience in 911 EMS and more than three decades in medevac, with a career rooted in emergency response and patient care across a wide range of settings.

She began working in 911 EMS, building a strong foundation in high-pressure, frontline care. Over the years, Barb has provided care in medevac settings across both rural and metropolitan regions throughout the Midwest United States, and has also worked in emergency departments ranging from small community hospitals to large, high-acuity medical centers—gaining extensive experience managing patients in critical and time-sensitive situations.

Medevac became a defining part of her career, where she cared for patients during transport in some of the most challenging environments. These experiences shaped her ability to remain calm under pressure, think quickly, and deliver steady, reliable care when it matters most.

Today, Barb brings together decades of experience in emergency medicine and transport care to support patients with a practical, compassionate approach. She believes in treating every patient like family—listening closely, keeping care straightforward, and building trust in every interaction.

Outside of work, Barb is married with three children and ten grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoys fishing, camping, and exploring Alaska’s incredible geography.
